Are you looking for a portable console that allows you to relive the sensations of your childhood or adolescence? Want to find legendary consoles? Starting with those that accompanied you, but that you no longer own? Then the Anbernic RG35XX console is certainly made for you!

Discover its features, how it works and useful tips. The RG35XX is a console that combines nostalgia and performance, and will provide you with hours of entertainment.

Presentation of the Anbernic RG35XX console

The Anbernic RG35XX console is a neo-retro-gaming portable console that allows you to reconnect with many consoles, arcade systems or even vintage microcomputers. If the acronyms NG, MD, GBA, GBC, GB, SNES, PS1 or even C64 mean something to you, you are in the right place!

The console has a 3.5-inch IPS screen in 4:3 format with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, which gives you a sharp and well-contrasted image. Its processor is sufficient to almost perfectly emulate all the classic 2D consoles and arcade systems from the 80s and 90s. Finally, the console is powered by a 2600 mAh battery, which ensures continuous autonomy of around 5 hours.

The RG35XX also has an HDMI output, which lets you plug it into a larger screen, as well as an OTG port, akin to a USB-C port, which lets you connect external game controllers.

One of the strong points of the RG35XX is its elegant and ergonomic design, which obviously recalls the legendary Game Boy, but in a slimmed down and modernized version, with additional buttons on the front and triggers on the back, and well safe with much more advanced technology.

It is available in three colors: gray, transparent white and transparent purple. Its very light dimensions make it easy to transport and store and allows you to rediscover the real feeling of the all-purpose portable console, unlike a much more imposing Switch.

Getting started with the Anbernic RG35XX console

Even if it requires some basics in terms of emulation to understand a few essential points, the Anbernic RG35XX console remains simple to use. Simply turn it on with the Power button on the right side of the console, and choose the game system you want to launch.

The console is equipped with RetroArch which functions as a sort of control station supporting many already installed emulators.

You can navigate the menus with the directional buttons or the analog joystick, and validate with the A button. You can also access additional options by pressing the Start or Select button.

To start a game, simply select it and press the A button. You can then enjoy the game with the usual buttons: A, B, X, Y, L1, L2, R1, R2. You can also adjust the volume with the + and - buttons on the left side of the console, or pause the game with the Power button.

To quit a game, simply press the SELECT button to bring up the Retroarch menu and choose the "Quit Game" option. You can then return to the main menu or turn off the console.

Precautions for use of the RG35XX

The Anbernic RG35XX console comes with a user manual which explains the basic functions of the console, as well as the technical characteristics and precautions for use. Here are some important points to remember:

• Do not expose the console to extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, direct sunlight, or magnetic fields.

• Do not leave the console within the reach of children or pets.

• Do not disassemble, modify, or repair the console yourself. In the event of a malfunction, contact Anbernic after-sales service.

• Do not use the console while it is charging, or with an incompatible charger. Use only the USB cable supplied with the console, or a cable of the same specification, and an AC adapter rated at or above 5V/2A.

• Do not allow the battery to completely discharge, or overcharge it. Charge the console when the red light flashes, and unplug it when the green light turns on.

How the Anbernic RG35XX console works

The RG35XX works with a Linux system, which allows it to support several retro game emulators thanks to the central Retroarch software. Each emulator corresponds to a classic game system, like PS1, MD, GB etc.

You can access these emulators from the console's main menu, using the directional buttons or analog stick, and pressing the A button. Once games are installed, each emulator displays a list of available games that you can launch by pressing button A.

You can add additional games by downloading them from the internet and copying them to the console's Micro SD memory card. Care must be taken to respect the format of the games, which must correspond to the format of the emulator. For example, to add GB games, the ROM format must be ".gb". There are some subtleties for some systems, e.g. for PS1, games must be in .bin or .cue format.

Once you have copied the games to the memory card, you must scan them with the console so that they appear in the list of games. To do this, go to the “Settings” menu, then choose the “Update game list” option. The console will then scan the memory card, and add the new games to the corresponding emulators. You can then play the games you added.

    Bonjour,
